Doña Lineida Calambas has been producing coffee since the early 2000s, operating her three hectare Finca El Mirador in the Cauca region of Colombia. She works today alongside three of her four children, Jader, Maura, and Orleyda, who all have their own space on the property with their own coffee trees. Along with coffee, they also grow sugar cane, banana, corn, yucca, arracacha, and beans.

“[Coffee] is the grain that is most marketed in any village, anywhere they buy it. With the special coffees and Pergamino prices… it is not necessary to [work elsewhere]. We work with coffee for love, passion, and tradition,” Lineida says.

This lot of Caturra coffee underwent Washed processing. Pulped coffee was fermented without water for 36 hours prior to being washed. The washed coffee was then dried on a drying patio.

Many rivers traverse Cauca and the Central Range of the Andes Mountains runs through the department.
