Adevalcir Tavares was born and raised in the Alto Caparaó region and, since he was young, accompanied his father Dorvalino in the coffee fields. This was how he learned the ropes, and when he was an adult, went to work for a commercial coffee brokerage for ten years.
Adevalcir’s love of coffee growing inspired him to purchase his own property where he planted 100,000 coffee trees in 1987. Over the years he acquired more parcels of land and dedicated them to the production of quality coffees.
Initially, with a lack of equipment and financial capital, Adevalcir encountered many difficulties in coffee production. He was able to overcome these challenges with the arduous work and support of his family.
50 hectares of the farm’s 70 total are planted with Red Catuaí, and Sertão do Papagaio ranges from 900 to 1100 meters above sea level.
